An exciting opportunity exists for an NDT Tech to join our Atchison, Kansas location. The NDT Tech is to support plant production within the NDT department.
SHIFT: 1st and 2nd PAY: $27.30-$35.40
Purpose Statement: The Employee performs Non-Destructive Testing of castings using various inspection methods for which qualified: (Visual Inspection, Magnetic Particle Inspection, Ultrasonic Inspection, Liquid Penetrant Inspection, and Radiographic Inspection to identify defects in the parts and/or determine acceptance to established Customer Acceptance Criteria. Parts must be accepted through this process to be eligible for shipment to the Customer. Description of how the role contributes to the department, division, and overall organization.
Primary Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Ensure compliance with organizational Health, Safety, and environmental rules and regulations.
- Wear Proper Protective equipment (PPE) and personnel monitoring equipment (where required).
- Perform production inspections on castings to Customer and Specification requirements using the applicable NDT Methods.
- Utilize and/or assist in the establishment of Technique Sheets for all products.
- Evaluate discontinuity indications to the applicable acceptance criteria.
- Provide guidance and training to inspection trainees.
- Complete the required paperwork to support inspection records.
- Maintain daily housekeeping in the work area.
- Other tasks and duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Applicants with Current/Previous NDT Certification or Training (VT-MT-PT-UT-RT) or Experience is preferred.
- Following In-House Training - Successful completion of the required NDT Examinations
- Possessing at hire or successful completion of the required NDT Training Hours in-house.
- J2 as a Minimum for Near Vision (J1 preferred)
- Legible Handwriting Skills and the Ability to Document Findings in Reports.
- Ability to communicate verbally with team members and work in a team environment.
- Ability to push, pull, bend, twist, reach, and squat
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
