Scientific Drilling is looking for a MWD Shop Technician to be based in Charleroi, PA. Scientific Drilling is an independent directional drilling and wellbore navigation, surveying and logging Service Company serving customers worldwide. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
•Perform repairs, maintenance, calibration, and inspections on down-hole tools and M/LWD sensors.
•Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in mechanical and electrical systems.
•Collaborate with engineers to ensure system functionality.
•Conduct regular preventative maintenance checks to reduce downtime.
•Clean and maintain MWD field kits, tools, and equipment.
•Support Service Quality Investigations by diagnosing tool failures and providing root cause analysis.
•Follow safety regulations and company procedures.
•Ensure the lab space and equipment are clean and in good working order.
•Basic skills at operating and interpreting lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, voltmeters, megohmmeters, etc.
•Operate high temperature and electronic systems.
Job Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
•Adhere to existing SDI safety culture.
•Familiar with downhole tools, sensors, and signal transmission systems.
•Ability to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues in complex systems.
•Capable of lifting 40-50 lbs. and performing physical tasks.
•Ensure accuracy in maintenance and repairs while following safety protocols.
•Effective communication and teamwork with engineers and other technicians.
•Able to understand and follow instructions and quickly adapts to priority changes.
•Presents self with professional appearance and behavior.

Education, Experience, Certification And Training
•High School Education (Associate/Technical degree preferred).
•Mechanical and electrical expertise, with knowledge of downhole tools.
•Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to lift 40-50 lbs.
•Motivated and results-driven, with the ability to work under pressure.
Work Environment, Physical Job Requirements And PPE
•Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, stoop, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly, climb stairs, identify colors, hear with aid, see, write, count, read, speak, analyze, alphabetize, lift and carry under 45 lbs., perceive depth and operate a motor vehicle.
•Conditions may include working inside and/or outside. May work around machines with moving parts and moving objects. Working near radiant and electrical energy. Working closely with others or working alone. Working extended or irregular hours and travelling by all possible modes of transportation.
•Equipment (machines, tools, devices) used in performing the essential job function include but not limited to computers and related equipment, calculators, copiers, fax machines, telephone and vehicles. Ability to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to, safety glasses, hardhat, reinforced toed shoes, coveralls, gloves, and ear plugs or muffs.
