MSHA Surface Electrician

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious MSHA Certified Electrician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in compliance with Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) regulations. This position requires strong technical expertise, a thorough understanding of electrical systems, and a commitment to safety protocols in the mining environment.

Responsibilities:

- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in accordance with MSHA regulations and industry standards.

- Conduct inspections, troubleshooting, and diagnostics to identify electrical issues and implement appropriate solutions.

- Perform preventative maintenance tasks to ensure the ongoing reliability and safety of electrical systems.

- Collaborate with other team members, including engineers and maintenance personnel, to coordinate work activities and optimize equipment performance.

- Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.

- Document work performed, including maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs, in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance technical skills and knowledge of MSHA regulations.

Qualifications:

- MSHA Electrical Certification required.

- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited electrician apprenticeship program preferred.

- Proven experience as an electrician in a mining or industrial setting.

- Strong understanding of electrical principles, systems, and components.

- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and diagrams.

- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.

- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

- Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with regulatory requirements.

- Flexibility to work rotating shifts and respond to emergency call-outs as needed.
