Job Overview
Venture Steel Inc. is a custom flat rolled steel processor and distributor. We supply Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel and Aluminum in a wide range of grades, gauges, and finishes. Venture Steel provides JIT, stock and release, and various other programs to a wide variety of customers in the Automotive, Construction, General Manufacturing and Commercial Markets. Our precision slitters, multi blanking and cut to length capabilities, combined with our experienced employees, provide a cohesive and timely service package to both ongoing and new customers.
- Utilize the Great Plains and EAM system to input new product records and generate purchase orders for MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operations) purchases
- Perform ad hoc duties as required
- Ensure accuracy of all PO data (price, quantity, vendor, etc.)
- Obtain necessary approvals for all purchase orders following the purchasing matrix
- Identify any invoice discrepancies against purchase orders and work to resolve issues
- Review invoices against contracted agreements to ensure pricing, products and service are abiding to terms
- Work with Account Payables to ensure smooth payment process
- Send purchase orders to suppliers and assist with following up on receipt of goods and/or services
- Manage the production plant PPE vending machine through daily replenishment
- Perform weekly stock counts and organize MRO supplies located in the production plant
- Complete monthly storage inventory reconciliations
- Process P-card transactions following the corporate purchasing policy
- Upload corporate credit card receipts to online portal and assign appropriate account codes
- Fill out new vendor forms and cheque requisition forms
- Provide internal support to Venture Steel departments for any non-steel required purchases
- Work in a safe manner and follow all health and safety protocol

- College diploma and/or 2-3 years of relevant experience
- Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail
- Energetic and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong work ethic and can-do attitude
- Proficient in Microsoft suite of products (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Able to lift up-to 50 lbs.
