If you are a
Buyer, Operational Indirect/MRO,looking for an opportunity to grow, we have an exciting opportunity for you! Based in
Rushville, IN, reporting to the Operations Manager, this role will provide outstanding service to internal stakeholders by validating and satisfying requirements efficiently and effectively. The candidate will be responsible for purchasing of indirect plant supplies to maintain operations, VMI/Tool Crib, maintenance, and facilities.
If You Are a Buyer, Operational Indirect/MRO, You Will
- Generate requisitions and purchase orders in the ERP system for Indirect Factory/MRO spend.
- Obtain necessary authorizations and approvals as per the guidelines/procedures, prior to submitting a PO, for purchases.
- Follow up on Indirect/MRO purchase orders, confirming delivery and price.
- Review PO to receipts, assure contractual price met, and PO close timely.
- Monitor Indirect/MRO/VMI inventory and adjust to business conditions to reduce waste.
- Maintain good relations with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers through outstanding service.
- Maintain the cost-quality-delivery relation, pursuing the maximum savings for the company.
- Evaluate supplier performance regularly and provide feedback for improvement.
- Work directly with suppliers to negotiate pricing and payment terms per business guidelines.
- Implement inventory optimization techniques such as setting minimum and maximum stock levels.
- Utilize just-in-time (JIT) or Kanban systems to maintain lean inventory.
- Streamline your procurement processes to reduce delays and inefficiencies.
- Collaborate and partner with internal stakeholders and support teams.
- Stay updated on import/export regulations, tariffs, and customs requirements to avoid compliance issues.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation to facilitate smooth transactions.
- Assist with special projects supporting the leadership team and business as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or relevant equivalent experience.
- 1-2 years of experience supporting Indirect Material/MRO/VMI purchasing in a mid-sized manufacturing environment, preferred with leadership experience of a small team.
- ERP system experience needed
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to make decisions quickly and resolve issues independently.
- Minimal travel needed for this role - less than 15% domestic travel.
- Legal work authorization in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.
- Oracle (ERP system) experience preferred.
- VMI experience preferred
Onsite Work Arrangement
This role is based fully onsite, with some flexibility, and not eligible for hybrid or remote work opportunities
Schedule
Assembly operates on a 4-day, 10-hour work-shift schedule. Salaried employees who are not front-line supervisors work five days to support this arrangement. They can choose between working extended hours from Monday to Thursday with a half day on Friday, or they can opt for full eight-hour workdays from Monday to Friday.

About Our Location
Our 2-building campus offers a safe and clean work environment with a “family” atmosphere. We manufacture new semi-hermetic compressors and take the worn-out, failed compressors out of the field and remanufacture them to “like new” status, as well as manufacture crank shafts. Approximately 200 employees work in Rushville and are an integral part of our organization. A 2-building campus allows for learning and growth opportunities for all our team.
