Location: Broken Bow, Oklahoma
Schedule: Full-Time | Hourly | M–F on 3rd Shift (10PM-6AM) — With overtime as needed
Base Pay: $20/hr + $1/hr Shift DifferentialBell Lumber & Pole Co. is seeking a safety-conscious, reliable Heavy Equipment Operator to support operations by safely handling raw materials and finished products in a dynamic outdoor environment.
As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you’ll be responsible for the safe handling and movement of utility poles and materials across our site. You'll operate front-end loaders, ensure loads are secure, and contribute to a clean, organized yard.
- Operating heavy equipment to load and unload materials from trucks, trams, and railcars (Front-end Loaders, Knucklebooms, etc.)
- Performing pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure equipment safety and reliability
- Following work orders and loading poles with accuracy and attention to detail
- Maintaining equipment cleanliness, fueling, and reporting any issues
- Communicating clearly with yard staff, drivers, and supervisors
- Monitoring load balance and securing materials to prevent damage
- Adhering to safety standards and wearing appropriate PPE
- Assisting with general yard duties as needed
- Understand OSHA safety rules and work in compliance with the Bell Timber safety standards, policies, and procedures.
- Identify and report any and all unsafe working conditions.
- Ability to read and understand equipment startup procedures, operation procedures, shutdown procedures, and maintenance manuals.
- Perform all work in compliance with company standards and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- One-year technical certificate OR 3–6 months of related experience preferred
- Prior experience with heavy equipment operation and maintenance is strongly desired
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical procedures
- Clear communication with coworkers, supervisors, and drivers
- Proficiency with heavy machinery and safe handling techniques
- Ability to identify unsafe conditions and follow Bell’s safety standards
- Team player who can adapt to changing conditions and priorities
- Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines
- Physical ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs
