We’re seeking a dependable and hardworking Mitigation Technician to join our emergency response team. In this hands-on role, you’ll assist in responding to property damage incidents caused by water, fire, or mold. You’ll play a vital role in stopping further damage, preserving property, and supporting restoration efforts—often during high-stress, time-sensitive situations.
This role includes participation in a rotating on-call schedule. When on call, you may be dispatched to jobs outside of regular business hours, including evenings and weekends as necessary. Flexibility and readiness to respond are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Water Mitigation:
•Assist with initial response and evaluation of water damage incidents.
•Deploy and monitor drying equipment, including dehumidifiers and air movers.
•Perform water extraction using appropriate tools and techniques.
•Map moisture and track drying progress with regular monitoring.
•Conduct light demolition work (e.g., remove baseboards, drywall, flooring) to support drying.
•Maintain, clean, and organize all mitigation equipment.
Mold Mitigation:
•Assist in mold remediation efforts by following strict safety and procedural protocols.
•Set up containment areas using negative air machines and proper barrier materials.
•Remove mold using approved methods such as HEPA vacuuming and antimicrobial treatments.
•Clean and disinfect affected areas and properly dispose of contaminated materials.
•Follow project-specific remediation plans and help prepare spaces for clearance testing.
•Wear and maintain appropriate PPE to ensure safety and prevent cross-contamination.
General Duties:
•Maintain clear documentation, including photos, moisture readings, and work logs.
•Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients.
•Operate and maintain various tools and mitigation equipment.
•Adhere to company safety standards and regulatory requirements.
What We’re Looking For
Minimum Qualifications:
•High school diploma or equivalent.
•Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work.
•Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
•Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and desire to learn.
•Ability to work both independently and on a team.
•Good communication and customer service skills.
•Availability for rotating on-call shifts, which may include nights and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Previous experience in water/mold mitigation, restoration, or construction.
•Familiarity with moisture meters, air movers, dehumidifiers, and containment equipment.
•Knowledge of health and safety procedures related to mitigation.
