What You’ll Do

As a Mining Geologist, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the success of our mining operations through hands-on geological assessments, strategic planning, and operational excellence. Your responsibilities will include:

Conduct face mapping and grade control sampling to steer efficient resource extraction.

Perform monthly volume and quality reconciliations to maximize ore recovery.

Assist with planning and overseeing core drilling operations, including detailed core logging.

Collaborate with the Division Geologist to integrate new drilling and testing data into block models.

Conduct surveys and calculate ore volumes to support mine planning and operations.

Partner with the Senior Mine Engineer to develop short- and long-term mine plans.

Assist with MSHA quarry inspections and maintain accurate records for compliance and operational tracking.

Evaluate and implement new technologies and methods for geological assessments and surveying.

Work closely with external consultants, provide leadership to hourly workforce as needed, and support operational and project management tasks.

Occasionally manage day-to-day mining operations, including weekend rotations, in the absence of the Mine Supervisor.

Assist with CapEx requests and project implementation to enhance operations.

Who You Are

We’re looking for a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a passion for geology and a drive to improve mining processes. You bring:

Ability to independently lead projects from concept to completion.

Proficiency in geological mapping, sampling, and core logging techniques.

Strong problem-solving abilities and experience with Microsoft Excel and mining software (e.g., ArcPro, AutoCAD, Leapfrog, Surpac, or Deswik preferred).

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and champion a culture of continuous improvement.

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, oversee contractors, and track key performance indicators (KPIs).

Comfortable working in a dynamic surface mine environment and driving operational efficiency.
