The Opportunity JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Maintenance Planner for the Albian Mine Maintenance Department, you’ll be responsible for planning and coordinating maintenance activities across various operational areas, supporting our commitment to equipment reliability and operational excellence.
- Job location: Albian Oil Sands – Fort McMurray, Alberta
- Shift schedule: 4 days on, 3 days off – Monday to Thursday, 10 hours per day
- Safety sensitive position: Yes

Key Accountabilities- Plan and schedule corrective and preventative maintenance activities for assigned equipment and systems
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, reliability, and execution teams to develop effective maintenance strategies
- Manage work order systems to ensure quality and accuracy of documentation, including job plans, parts, and resource requirements
- Identify and coordinate procurement of parts, tools, and services required for maintenance execution
- Support budget development and cost tracking for maintenance activities
- Plan and coordinate equipment outages, turnarounds, and major maintenance events
- Liaise with contractors and vendors regarding maintenance requirements, warranties, and service agreements
- Monitor work progress and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Provide accurate time estimates and resource forecasting for planned work
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements- Typically, 5+ years of related industry experience in maintenance planning or execution
- Experience with industrial equipment maintenance preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (Maximo preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Understanding of maintenance best practices and industry standards
- Trade certification (Millwright, Mechanic, etc.) would be an asset
- Project management experience would be an asset
