Microtrenching Operator

Parker Communications is seeking an experienced Microtrenching Operator to operate equipment and manage microtrenching construction projects in Mesa, AZ. This role is essential for ensuring the efficient execution of microtrenching projects from start to finish. You will be responsible for operating the necessary equipment for trenching, assisting in project coordination, and ensuring that the project meets safety, budget, and time requirements.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating microtrenching equipment, particularly for digging and installation processes. Strong technical skills, excellent time management, and effective communication are essential for success in this role.
Please note that this is not an entry-level position. Prior experience in microtrenching operations is required.
Duties:
•Operate microtrenching equipment for project excavation and installation
•Assist in the setup and breakdown of project sites
•Ensure proper maintenance and operation of equipment
•Collaborate with internal teams and contractors to ensure timely project delivery
•Review and interpret blueprints and construction documents specific to microtrenching projects
•Assist in managing project schedules and tasks to ensure completion on time and within budget
•Comply with safety regulations, local building codes, and quality standards for microtrenching projects
•Monitor project progress and provide updates to senior management
•Address and resolve any issues or delays during construction
Skills:
•Proven experience in operating microtrenching equipment
•In-depth knowledge of blueprint reading and construction documentation
•Strong time management and organizational skills
•Ability to effectively communicate with team members and external stakeholders
•Experience with equipment maintenance and safety protocols
•Problem-solving skills to address challenges during project execution
Requirements
Required Experience:
•Underground fiber optic construction experience is essential.
•Experience operating mini excavators and other construction equipment.
•Familiarity with underground boring and trenching is a plus.
Qualifications:
•Local candidates preferred due to on-call responsibilities.
•Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
•Ability to travel within the region if needed.
•Must pass a background check.
•Clean driving record and a valid driver’s license (must pass an MVR check).
•Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
•Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements:
•Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
•Ability to perform manual labor, including lifting and operating equipment.
•Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and be on-call as needed.
