Meter Technician

Responsibilities:

- Regularly reads meters

- performs testing of water and electric meters

- Uses PC to program residential and commercial electronic meters

-Performs meter change outs as required

-Responds to service orders concerning residential and commercial customers to include meter change outs, stopped meters, rereads of meters, connects, disconnects, high bill complaints, etc.

- Performs other metering duties as required.

Requirements:

- Must possess a valid Mississippi Drivers License

- Must have good color vision

- Knowledge of programming, testing , repairing and calibration of electronic mechanical meters

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

- Ability to work independently or as part of a team

- Excellent communication and customer service skills

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

- The employee regularly works in outside weather conditions. The employee is regularly exposed to wet and or humid conditions, ambient air, temperature extremes, traffic, and risk of electrical shock.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.54 per hour
