Position Overview:

Reporting to the Lead Metallurgist, the Metallurgical EIT will gain experience in the practical and technical aspects of base metal mineral processing. The successful candidate will be accountable for achieving results on small to medium size projects to increase site profitability, through increased metallurgical performance, increased revenues or decreased costs. The Metallurgical EIT will also provide technical support for the Kidd Concentrator Operation by assisting in the troubleshooting of technical process problems and recognizing opportunities for improvement.

The Metallurgical EIT will be an analytical individual with strong problem-solving skills, and possess the ability to collaborate with technical, production and maintenance personnel on a regular basis. They will be responsible to comply with site safety and environmental policies and any relevant SOPs, as well as support the achievement of the mill’s production, NSR and safety targets.

A degree in Chemical, Metallurgical, Minerals or Materials Engineering from a recognized university; a three year Metallurgical or Chemical Technology Diploma will also be considered

1-2 years of relevant work experience, including student placements

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel

The ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Excellent communication, interpersonal and critical thinking skills

The following skills would be considered valuable additional assets:

Knowledge of base metal flotation

Previous work experience in an industrial environment

Exposure to metallurgical test work programs and equipment

Schedule: Monday to Thursday OR Tuesday to Friday with 10-hour shifts (Kidd Operations reserves the right to modify working schedules as necessary, in accordance with applicable notice requirements and labor regulations.)
