Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Fabricator/Welder to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metal fabrication & welding techniques and processes, with the ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
Non-Negotiable - Candidates MUST have their high school education and possess at least 2 years' experience working as a Fabrication/Welding in a warehouse/manufacturing environment.
As a Fabricator/Welder, you will be responsible for assembling and fabricating metal structures, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.
The candidate must demonstrate a general knowledge of Welding Symbols, Welding Procedures, Fabrication Drawings, Visual Weld Inspection, LPI and other Welding Quality Assurance Procedures.
A welding performance test, amongst other testing on weld symbols etc., will be administered to all candidates to evaluate their skill level prior to receiving an offer of employment.
Must obtain a welding trade certificate available through the Canadian Welding Bureau.
Must be mathematically inclined, able to properly read a tape measure, able to read, write and speak English, and work well with others, as well as independently.
- Operate welding equipment to join metal components according to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine project requirements.
- Assemble and build metal structures using various welding techniques.
- Utilize power tools effectively for cutting, grinding, and finishing metal parts.
- Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and on time.
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints and/or welding process specifications
- Operate manual or semiautomatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments
- Operate manual or semiautomatic flame cutting equipment
- Weld beams, plates, connection ends etc. for customer orders
- Weld any special fabrications for customer orders
- Adhere to all established safety policies and procedures as trained and report any unsafe areas of concern to management.
- Proficient in blueprint reading and understanding of schematics.
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques.
- Familiarity with calipers and basic math skills for precise measurements.
- Experience with power tools used in metal fabrication.
- Ability to rig materials safely for lifting and positioning during assembly.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Must be ability to lift up to 80lbs.
