Mako Industries is seeking an experienced MEP Project Manager with a strong background in commercial construction to lead and manage Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems from pre-construction through project completion. This role is critical to ensuring that all MEP components are designed, coordinated, procured, and installed to meet project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Lead MEP planning and coordination during pre-construction and construction phases.
- Review and interpret MEP drawings, specifications, and submittals.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure MEP systems are integrated into overall project design and schedule.
- Participate in value engineering and constructability reviews.
- MEP Oversight & Management
- Manage all MEP subcontractors and consultants.
- Ensure that installations comply with project specifications, codes, and safety standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and monitor MEP progress.
- Identify and resolve field issues related to MEP systems.
- Schedule & Budget Management
- Develop and maintain MEP schedules and milestones.
- Track and report on MEP progress, budget status, and changes.
- Manage procurement of MEP equipment and long-lead items.
- Quality Control & Safety
- Implement and enforce quality assurance and quality control procedures for MEP systems.
- Ensure all safety procedures are followed in coordination with the safety team.
- Communication & Documentation
- Attend and lead MEP coordination meetings and report outcomes.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and punch lists.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all MEP-related issues.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
- 5–10+ years of experience managing MEP systems in commercial construction projects (office buildings, hospitals, retail, mixed-use, etc.).- Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and MEP systems.
- Proven experience in construction management software (e.g., Bluebeam).
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- OSHA 10/30 certification preferred.
