GVEA is an electric cooperative which maintains 3,292 miles of transmission and distribution lines, 40 substations, and 9 generating facilities. Our system is interconnected with Fort Wainwright, Eielson AFB, Fort Greely, the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, and all of the electric utilities in the Alaska Railbelt, extending from Homer to Fairbanks. WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE A MEMBER SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE I
As a Member Services Representative I at Golden Valley Electric Association, you will play a crucial role in supporting our members through one of our three key sub-departments: Frontline, Billing, or Credit. In the Frontline department, you will serve as the initial point of contact, assisting members with account creation, payments, outages, and general information about the cooperative while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor during high-stress situations. In Billing, your attention to detail will be essential as you analyze and explain bills, set up budget billing, and address usage inquiries. In Credit, you will assist members facing disconnection or financial hardship by establishing payment arrangements and guiding them toward available resources.
Your strong communication skills and empathy will be instrumental in building trust and delivering high-quality service, ensuring that our members feel supported and informed every step of the way.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with two years of direct customer service experience in a service industry, and at least one year of cash handling experience.
