Southside Electric Cooperative (SEC) is seeking a service-driven Member Service Representative at our office in Altavista, Virginia.
Our dedicated Member Service Representatives are responsible for responding to requests for electric service, information, and resolving complaints of Cooperative members in a prompt and courteous manner. We aren't your typical customer service environment. Our members aren't just our customers, they are also owners along with us. We have high expectations that they will receive a quality of service that is unmatched by any industry. Maybe that's why the majority of our Member Service Representatives stay with us through retirement age.
You've been working in the Member/Customer service field for at least three years. Experience working for an Electric Cooperative or utility is highly preferred.
You are knowledgeable in general office practices and procedures with an understanding of basic accounting practices, rates, and regulations. You can efficiently operate office equipment including, but not limited to, voice terminal, personal computer/printer, facsimile, copier, ten-key calculator and scanner. You are proficient with Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Excel, and Word. The ability to analyze and process information and recommend solutions is one of your best qualities. Knowledge of Cooperative processes, procedures, and operations is a plus.
Our Altavista Member Service Representatives must reside within sixty minutes legal drive time of our District Office located in Altavista, VA. There is no relocation assistance available for this position. Candidates already residing in the required area will receive priority consideration.
