Job Title: Member Service Clerk
Department Member Service
Location: Summerdale, AL
Description of Responsibilities:
•Will be required to courteously provide information on Baldwin County EMC's service rules, regulations, policies, and programs to walk-in members to meet the needs of current and potential members and to increase member understanding.
•Receive monies for payment of electric bills and other receipts related to Cooperative member services, keep accurate cash drawer balances, and record data accurately and promptly for member accounts.
•Accomplish all tasks related to new services, meter sets, disconnects, and changeover service orders, including the application process, quoting deposits, and updating the system.
•Communicate with Staking Technicians regarding new service requests.
•Remittance processing duties will include sorting/delivering mail.
•Pick up and deliver mail to the post office daily.
•Able to open all service orders in IVUE and process credit checks for deposit quotes. Must be able to quote commercial deposits.
The above-described duties are not all inclusive - a job description will be provided at the interview.
Minimum Requirements:
•High school diploma or equivalent.
•Experience in customer service, public relations, basic utility accounting, and data entry.
•Excellent oral and written communication skills.
•Demonstrate effective communication principles, especially in dealing with frustrated individuals.
•Able to respond quickly and flexibly to multiple demands and to meet deadlines.
•Must be able to manage multiple projects and coordinate schedules.
Working Conditions:
•Duties are performed in a normal office environment. Occasional overtime is required. Travel to training events, some of which could be overnight, is expected.
