LightManufacturing Inc, http://www.lm.solar, seeks a Mechatronics Engineer Intern for our Central Coast sites. We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with a concentration in mechatronics (Aerospace Engineer or similar disciplines acceptable as well). Must be able to commit 15+ daytime hours per week during the school year, and 40 hours (or close to it) during breaks in classes (summer). We expect a minimum commitment of 6 months.
Our engineering team is responsible for pioneering new methods of sustainable manufacturing. This is not the typical entry-level gig where you're given a minor part of a project. As a member of our team, you'll be thrust into a dynamic, multi-faceted role right from the start. You'll contribute to something new and innovative, with the potential for global impact.
You'll be involved in the design process of our systems, create CAD models and simulations, assemble prototypes, run tests, and much more at our indoor / outdoor sites. You will also assist with our molding process in a variety of ways. The work is sometimes hot, dusty, and physically challenging; a mixture of theory and rugged practice.
