Summary

DMC is currently looking for a

Mechanical Superintendent

to join our team on a

FIFO Schedule

, based in our

Cadomin, AB - CA

project site. The Mechanical Superintendent will work with the Operations Team to ensure that operation and shaft-related infrastructure plans are mechanically safe, practical and efficient to implement. The Mechanical Superintendent will work closely with the Electrical Superintendent to ensure the operational and shaft-related infrastructures and equipment for the Project are mechanically installed and commissioned safely, as per plan and within budget. Once installed and commissioned, the Mechanical Superintendent is to ensure adequate availability of this equipment mechanically. Takes responsibility for aspects of occupational health and safety, and environmental matters, over which the role has control and accountability, including adherence to all DMC policies.

Responsibilities

- Act as a liaison with other departments to ensure the project schedule is met.

- Monitor contractors, trade performance, progress and productivity.

- Coordinate plans with field engineers and supervisors to overcome any inconsistencies.

- Maintain the daily performance and goals in a project. Coordinate work efforts and ensure activities are sequenced correctly.

- Supervise and mentor other supervisors and employees by planning, organizing and communicating company policies, work standards and Health & Safety objectives along with training for all positions to achieve efficient operations and meet legislation.

- Manage the Project Mechanical Budget.

- Ensure all equipment maintenance and preventative maintenance inspections are performed and acted upon to achieve the highest production volume.

- Ensure day-to-day development, communication, implementation and daily administration of the mechanical operations.

- Serve as the company’s representative responsible for continuous field supervision, coordination, and completion of work.

- Ensure compliance with all environmental legislation is met or exceeded.

- Responsible for managing their staff, including: monitoring performance including day-to-day coaching and providing performance feedback, performance appraisals, and initiating disciplinary action if required (including maintaining notes/documentation required to support).

Qualifications

- Certification as a Journeyman Heavy Duty mechanic; red seal certification (421A).

- Master Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Mechanic.

- 10 years of experience in the mining industry.

- MS Suite and associated computer package competence.

- Ability to train and mentor team members.

- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
