Mechanical Maintenance

Hussey Copper has a openings for mechanical maintenance and millwrights at its Leetsdale, PA facility. The mechanics plan and perform a range of duties to maintain, service, and repair plant machinery, including but not limited to rolling mills, furnaces, machine tools, pumps, compressors, air and hydraulic devices, and auxiliary equipment. These are union positions covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the United Steelworkers.

Duties:

Provide effective machining services to repair and maintain mill equipment including rolling mills, furnaces, machine tools, and auxiliary equipment

Interpret drawings, manufacturer’s installation or service manuals, blueprints, product drawings, and plant layouts to machine new/replacement parts for equipment

Must have knowledge and experience of general machining operations

Manual machining is a must such as grinding, milling, lathe and some CNC operations

Knowledge of how to build fixtures & jigs

Ability to modify piece parts as needed

Modify machine speed tooling and cutting style to ensure precision accuracy of parts

Routinely use a variety of measuring devices including calipers, height gauge, micrometer, chamfer gauge, versa gauge, depth gauge, go/no go gauges, pin gauges, thread gauges, protractor, etc.

Operate crane and forklift as needed

Experience:

High School Diploma/GED required; additional training in industrial maintenance from a trade school program or college is preferred

2-5 years of experience as a Manual Machinist

2-5 years of experience as an industrial mechanic working on a variety of manual machines

CNC Machine experience is a plus
