The Engineering team is looking for a Mechanical Engineer II to play an important role in the design, planning and implementation of energy infrastructure projects.
The successful candidate will manage engineering work tasks primarily related to power generation facilities. This includes project roles both independently and collaboratively leading research, design, and commissioning activities focused on improving NYPA’s energy services. The successful candidate will ensure code compliance, quality assurance and control, cost, safety, reliability, schedule timeliness, and performance throughout all activities and deliverables.
To deliver a successful project outcome, the successful candidate will analyze the design effectiveness and functional reliability of projects. The successful candidate will be part of the team responsible for implementing decarbonization, energy efficiency and clean energy technology projects at NYPA facilities related to mechanical infrastructure including rotational, thermal and fluid, refrigeration, fire protection, and process systems.
The successful candidate will demonstrate experience with feasibility evaluations, designing, permitting, cost benefit analysis, construction, and commissioning of complex interdisciplinary mechanical energy efficiency projects in urban and rural environments.

The New York Power Authority is committed to providing fair, competitive, and market-informed compensation. The estimated salary range for this position is: $110,620.00 - 152,090.00. The salary offered will be determined based on the successful candidates’ relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
