This is a contract-to-hire opportunity designed for a creative, detail-driven engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, high-impact setting.
Responsibilities
•Design, modeling, and documentation of mechanical assemblies using SolidWorks or equivalent CAD tools.
•Perform engineering calculations, material selection, and tolerance analysis for components exposed to high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) and vibration-sensitive conditions.
•Drive the iterative design process from concept through prototype and field validation.
•Collaborate cross-functionally with systems, manufacturing, and operations teams to meet performance and manufacturability goals.
•Support lab and field testing, failure analysis, and continuous improvement efforts.
•Manage BOMs, change orders, and interface with vendors and field on assembly and operations optimization.
Preferred Experience
•5+ years in mechanical design engineering, with exposure to systems used in harsh or constrained operating environments (e.g., energy, aerospace, subsea, defense).
•Proven track record designing dynamic assemblies, pressure-containing components, or rotary/mechanical systems.
•Hands-on prototyping and testing experience; comfort working closely with machinists and technicians.
•Strong understanding of fatigue life, material science, sealing technologies, and FEA/Ansys.
Qualifications
•B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
•Excellent 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred)
•Effective communicator and problem-solver with a proactive mindset.
