Job Brief

As a Mechanic Apprentice, you will be responsible for vehicle inspections, performing basic repairs and preventative maintenance, parts purchasing, inventory receipts and assist in inventory reconciliation.

This position pays $23 an hour

What You’ll Do:

As a Mechanic Apprentice, you will be responsible for vehicle inspections, performing basic repairs and preventative maintenance, parts purchasing, inventory receipts and assist in inventory reconciliation. As the mechanic apprentice, you will be working under our experienced Mechanics to learn the trade and advance your career. Other duties include:

- Understanding of processes, strategies, methodologies, and production practices

- Commit to establishing an in-depth understanding of the site’s business cycle and vocabulary.

- Understanding the contributions of thew subjects’ duties and how they will impact the company’s ability to deliver on its promises to customers, employees, and investors.

- Work under direct supervision of the lead mechanic and other experienced mechanics

- You will be trained in performing standard mechanic repairs and DOT BIT Inspections

- You will be learning repair techniques under the supervision of trained mechanics for all brake systems, heavy and light duty, suspension, chassis, and HVAC.

- You will have the opportunity to attend in class and online training to advance your knowledge and certifications.

- You will be responsible for daily inspections.

- Part of your responsibility will include engine and chassis services.

- Maintaining a well-organized work area and shop

- Repair and maintain all company vehicles to assure safe and reliable use.

- You will be trained to maintain all vehicle maintenance records to assure timely maintenance of vehicles.

What We’re Looking For:

- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. Mechanical or trade school is a plus.

- No experience needed, mechanical or construction background is a plus.

- Ability to read, write, and speak English, and to communicate in writing and verbally.

- Fundamental knowledge of computer systems and the operation of email software, time keeping and other productivity software and apps.

- Must be willing to undergo and pass an ATF background check as required to be a possessor of explosives.

- Must be 21 years of age or older

- Valid drivers license

- Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and team player.
