Mechanic I – Job Description
We have an immediate position open for a Maintenance Lube Tech to work in our facility as well as in the field with our crew in our Pasco location. Persons interested in secure, steady employment are encouraged to apply.
This is a beginning position with excellent opportunities for advancement in knowledge and career. We have a team with almost 100 years of combined experience working for Basin Disposal, who are looking for an individual to teach and guide.
Shift is Monday - Friday from 1:00 PM to 10 PM.
Responsibilities include:
Preventative Maintenance
•Demonstrate the safe operation of all equipment from the truck line to the shop and safely operate hydraulic components around other employees and obstacles while in the shop to access grease points and oil check/fill locations.
•Grease high wear points on fleet while adhering to predetermined schedule set forth by maintenance lead
•Top off fluids (engine oil, AFT, coolant, hydraulic fluid) as notated by DVIR’s and correctly complete work order and return DVIR’s to driver boxes for signature of repairs
•Maintain oil levels in CNG compressors
•Take oil samples on equipment scheduled by maintenance lead and correctly complete paperwork for oil sample submission
•Inspect shop vehicles weekly (check oil, top off fluids, fuel trucks)
•Keep the shop in a clean and orderly fashion (sweeping, putting away parts, cleaning equipment)
•Learn various levels and specifics of the maintenance of all equipment
Repairs
•Learn how to perform diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on equipment both in the field and at our facility using diagnostic software, and other diagnosis techniques.
•Learn how to perform DVIR repairs, certifying that the repairs have been safely completed while maintaining compliance with regulations set forth by the FMCSA and DOT.
•Learn how to evaluate the repair, document the needed items, and offer an opinion on feasibility.
Other
•Maintain a safe work environment.
•Maintain a neat and tidy work environment.
•Work with drivers and staff to actively participate in functions of the day.
•Document and complete repair orders for all work completed.
Ideal Candidate will possess:
•Experience in automotive maintenance and repair a plus.
•Desire to learn and advance.
•Ability to obtain a CDL (clean driving record, etc..)
•Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks.
•Ability to read and comprehend service literature as well as technical information, electric and hydraulic schematics and diagrams and technical information.

Pay: From $22.39-$24.60 / hr
