Job Objective:
Diagnoses problems and performs necessary repairs on machinery and/or related mechanical equipment and helps maintain a safe work environment for the company.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
•Troubleshoot and repair mechanical faults through discussion with operators, listening to machinery, referring to O&M manuals, and/or using specialized testing equipment.
•Perform preventative maintenance on rotating equipment (fluid level checks, oil analysis, greasing bearings, verifying alignment, inspecting couplings, vibration, etc.)
•Manage and coordinate a diverse range of complex assignments requiring the use of experience, innovation, and judgment.
•Knowledge, understanding, and experience with positive displacement/centrifugal pumps and compressors, screw compression, etc.
•Readily identifies and promptly acts upon or efficiently organizes any efforts needed to address safety and operational efficiencies, and protection of community, personnel, environment, and assets.
•Cleans, lubricates, and tunes mechanical equipment to make them run properly.
•Repairs damaged or faulty parts with new or rebuilt parts.
•Knowledge, understanding, and experience with mechanical seals, gaskets, sealing materials and process applications (Viton, Buna, Aflas, etc.)
•Perform alignments on rotating equipment
•Monitors and reads gauges to verify sufficient levels of fluids, pressure, and temperature.
•Maintains records or daily activates and prepares progress reports.
•Maintains employee confidence and protects company assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential.
•Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications:
•Three (3) years minimum of oil and gas mechanic experience.
•Demonstrates an increased ability to work unsupervised, act upon an acquired knowledge of how the facilities function, anticipates and corrects problems before they occur, or before other parts of the facility are affected.
•Demonstrates the ability to routinely operate machinery/mechanical equipment unsupervised, while maintaining the facility in a safe, environmentally sound condition and maintaining neat and accurate records of the operations.
•Demonstrates the ability to recognize when non-standard or non-routine conditions exist at the facility, notify supervisory staff, and offer recommendations for solutions to the problem.
•Ability to be available 24 hours per day (on call for questions, emergencies, etc.).
•Advanced mathematics and mechanical skills.
•Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
•Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
•Good written and verbal communication skills.
•Ability to work effectively with different truck groups that transport product.
•Proficiency in the use and application of the following software:
+ Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook)
•Ability to make independent, rational decisions, as required.
•Ability to work alone and highly motivated.
•Ability to operate a motor vehicle in and around process area.
•Ability to consider safety in all decisions.
•Self-starter, team player, and comfortable working under pressure.
Education Requirements:
•Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent or any equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating sufficient knowledge, ability and skill to handle the duties and responsibilities of the position.
