Responsibilities:
As our new Materials Manager for REAL ALLOY in Morgantown, Kentucky, you will provide overall direction and leadership to the Shredder, Receiving, Shipping and Quality departments at the Morgantown Ky facility. The Materials Manager will also be responsible for executing safety initiatives, improvement plans, production schedules, housekeeping and staffing plans
Additional responsibilities include:
•Drives and develops the culture of safety first in the Receiving, Shredder, Shipping and Quality departments. Contributes to safety culture at Real Alloy by actively participating in safety improvement initiatives. Accountable for the safety of all plant personnel, contractors and visitors to the facility.
•Responsible for the operations in the Shredder Department on a 24/7 basis including shredder scheduling.
•Responsible for forecasting, scheduling and blending for all pounds processed in furnaces and shredder during the month.
•Develops, implements and manages continuous improvement programs for the Shredder and Receiving departments.
•Responsible for processes and procedures in the Quality and Laboratory departments that support the facility’s ISO 9001 certification.
•Work with metals purchasing and production to ensure timely delivery of required material to the plant site to process for production needs.
•Work in conjunction with SPF facility in scheduling dross shipment and cons recovery and storage.
•Oversight of scale personnel.
•Be a member of the Central Safety Committee.
•Sets goals and objectives for the Shredder, Receiving, Shipping and Lab departments.
•Responsible for Operational Excellence in the Processing and Receiving areas.
•Responsible for accuracy of raw material inventory.
•Responsible for shipment of landfill shredder dust shipments.
•Including any other duties assigned by Plant Manager.
Management Responsibilities
•Responsible for direct supervision of Processing and Receiving Supervisors.
Support the Processing Supervisors in managing the Shredder and Receiving Department on a 24/7 basis

Required Qualifications:
To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
•Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
•Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations role.
•Minimum of 3 years of managerial or supervisory experience.
•General knowledge of Quality systems and ISO 9001.
•Experience in driving continuous improvement in a manufacturing department.
•Proficient in computer usage and Microsoft Office.
•Proven ability to function in a leadership role.
•Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
•Ability to plan and organize effective and efficiently.
•Willingness to travel as necessary (>5% of the time on an annual basis)
•Union experience preferred.
