The Materials Manager is proficient in English and Mexican Spanish and is responsible for overseeing the procurement, inventory control, and logistics of materials in a manufacturing setting. They will ensure that materials are available for production without overstocking, manage supplier relationships, and lead a team to maintain efficient operations. Key tasks include forecasting material needs, negotiating with suppliers, and developing inventory management systems.
Salary Range:$90,000 - $125,000
The salary range provided is intended to display the value of the company's base pay compensation for all statewide locations across the United States. Salary is dependent on a multitude of factors, including but not limited to the physical worksite location, candidate's skill set, level of experience, education, and internal peer compensation comparisons.
Responsibilities
• Supply Chain Management:Develop and implement procurement strategies to balance quality, cost, and supply continuity.
• Inventory Control:Monitor and manage inventory levels to avoid excess or shortages.
• Supplier Management:Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage disputes.
• Logistics Coordination:Oversee the scheduling and logistics of incoming and outgoing materials.
• Cost Management:Analyze market trends to achieve cost reductions while maintaining quality.
• Team Leadership:Lead and develop the materials management team.
• Compliance:Ensure all activities comply with industry standards and regulations
• Primary integrator for Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) activity: contribute to material procurement timing, order release timing requirements, available capacity, and lead-times.
• Interacts with Sales to coordinate an overall production plan to meet Customer demand.
• Owns Sales Forecasting for the CES Consolidated business
• the Master Production Schedule and slot plans for roll-outs and obsolescence of global products and ensure a consistent handoff of planning information to the production work cells so that the MPS and production schedules are synchronized.
• Purchasing materials and negotiating cost-effective deals.
• Inspecting and verifying incoming materials for quality and quantity.
• Developing inventory management systems to reduce wastage.
• Collaborating with other departments to meet material requirements.
• Preparing detailed reports on inventory operations.
• Analyzing supply chain data to identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborating with other departments to align supply chain activities with business goals.
• Managing the procurement process, including selecting suppliers and negotiating contracts.
• Monitoring supplier performance and addressing any issues.
Experience And Skill Required
• Bachelors degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
• Certifications like CPIM or CSCP are advantageous.
• At least five years of experience in materials management or supply chain operations.
• Proficient in both English and Mexican Spanish. This includes the ability to read, write, and speak both languages at a professional level, enabling effective communication in a business environment.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP and ORACLE) and materials management software.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 25 pounds frequently to constantly.
• Must be able to constantly stand or sit for long periods of time as necessary in the work area.
