About The Role
Safety is the Core Value of Stelco and the individual will make Safety the #1 priority in the execution of all work activities, including monitoring contractor/vendor safety in support of work efforts.
The Materials Management Representative is responsible for coordinating all daily warehouse and inventory transactions such as the timely receipt and delivery of incoming goods, coordinating the repair of inventory items, expediting and assisting in maintaining inventory accuracy.

Your Day-to-day
- Work with warehouse managers regarding the maintenance, housekeeping, and safety within the warehouse and inventory locations.
- Ensure all plant procedures are followed with regards to safety, equipment inspection and operation, and housekeeping.
- Communicate with mill representatives on material delivery and inventory status.
- Coordinate all delivery packing slip and material receipt paperwork and systems interface.
- Coordinate all emergency delivery and expediting requirements.
- Coordinate all managed inventory repairs with Mill personnel and outside contractors.
- Coordinate shipping of all material being sent offsite for repair, return or transfers to other plant locations.
- Coordinate and participate in physical inventory verification and system adjustments.
- Work with inventory managers to coordinate the Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) program at all site locations.
- Coordinate and complete the creation of all new additions and changes to the item master file.
- Run Reports and analyze data as required.
Job Qualifications
What you bring to the table- High School Diploma (Bachelor’s Degree or Technical degree is preferred) - 3+ years of warehouse, procurement or inventory management (or equivalent)
- Working knowledge of ERP systems (Microsoft D365 a strong asset) and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of Warehouse Management, Inventory Management, purchasing process, mechanical or electrical maintenance equipment (preferred by not necessary).
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills to interact with internal customers, unionized workers, other service organizations and external sources.
- Ability to perform well under pressure and work effectively with all levels of management.
- Ability to work independently under tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work across functionally to drive problem resolution.
- Detail-oriented with proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Normal, fast-paced office environment for a high impact team
