The Material Handler is responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials and products within a warehouse or manufacturing environment. This role involves accurately processing transactions in the ERP system operating various types of material handling equipment, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring that materials are moved, picked, and delivered correctly and efficiently.
A successful candidate must be able to:
•The Material Handler is responsible for the accurate and efficient receipt and put away of incoming inventory items, ensuring they match the corresponding purchase orders and meet quality standards. This role involves careful inspection, data entry, and maintaining organized records.
•Accurately process transactions in the ERP system (e.g., receiving, inventory transfers, production issues/returns).
•Inspect the quality, condition, and quantity of any incoming goods, and allocate them to the appropriate bins/spaces in the warehouse.
•Provide punctual receipt, forms, and communication regarding all inbound deliveries on correct and incorrect qty and item deliveries. Additionally, any overage, shortages, and damaged products will be documented and communicated to the Manufacturing and Quality manager for escalation.
•Transfer stock items with a pallet jack or forklift when applicable.
•Ensure Bin locations are properly stocked and correctly labeled.
•Ensure all overstock pallets are properly labeled and put away.
•Ensure work area is clean and organized, and free of potential hazards.
•Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 50 pounds.
•Pick and pack materials according to Bill of material, Pick list and/or Work order specifications.
•May work in a warehouse with varying temperatures.
•Report issues problems, and/or observations daily to Supervisor/ Manager.
•All other duties assigned to help assist the daily functions of the business.
A successful candidate will demonstrate:
•Competence in inventory counts; receiving incoming Inventory shipments; stacking product on pallets; scanning and documenting incoming and outgoing shipments,
•Attention to detail, willing attitude, and critical thinking skills,
•Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment safely.
•Ability to work alone or with a team.
•Ability to lift and move heavy items as needed.
•Capable of consistently working a 40-hour work week.
Qualifications:
•2+ years of experience in material handling in a manufacturing environment.
•Experience using an ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics) in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
•Proficient with computers and scanners; experience with barcoding systems preferred.
•Familiarity with inventory management software and computer literacy.
•Must be able to maintain working conditions (safety, quality, cleanliness, & costs)
•Must assist in improving a system of production control, standard operating procedure, safety, quality control, and performance.
Physical Requirements:
•This position may require the ability to perform tasks that involve sitting, standing, walking, lifting 100+ lbs, bending, stooping, computer work, and other physical activities. Candidates should be able to meet these physical demands with or without reasonable accommodations.
