Job Summary:
The Material Handler 2 supports the logistics team by safely unloading, staging, moving, and distributing materials across the solar job site. This role is hands-on and vital to maintaining the flow of materials needed for solar panel and racking system installation.
Key Responsibilities:
•Assist with unloading trucks and verifying materials against delivery paperwork.
•Safely handle and transport solar panels, racking, wiring, and other construction components.
•Stage materials in designated laydown areas or installation zones based on site layout plans.
•Use forklifts or manual methods to move materials as directed.
•Help track quantities and conditions of received materials.
•Report missing or damaged materials to supervisor immediately.
•Maintain clean and organized laydown and staging areas.
•Follow logistics workflows to ensure material availability does not delay construction.
•Communicate with logistics supervisors, equipment operators, and installation crews.
•Follow daily assignments and adjust to changes as directed by the logistics lead.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
•1+ years of experience as a material handler or general laborer (solar or construction preferred).
•Familiarity with construction site safety and basic material handling practices.
•Able to lift and carry 50+ lbs regularly.
•Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
•Forklift certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
•Ability to take direction and work as part of a team.
