Full-Time Position Title: Marketing Accountant
Location: Calgary, Alberta
Reporting to: Team Lead Marketing Accounting (CORIK)
Key Areas of Accountability and Responsibility
Volumetrics
•Ensure the recording of physical and financial revenue transactions, as well as reconciling clearing accounts are completed on time and accurately
•Pipeline volume balancing and shipper balance validations
•Liaise with Delivery and Reconciliation group (“DAR”), Marketing, and Scheduling in terms of producer royalty receipts, shipper volumes and pipeline inventory
Revenue and Pricing
•Prepare and manage monthly Crude Oil Marketing-related accounting activities for the proper accrual and booking of Crude Oil transactions
•Verify, balance, and record monthly single shipper buy/sells and lease sales
•Liaising with other Royalty departments and Financial Accounting to ensure marketing transactions are accurately accounted for
•Prepare and verify Field Pricing calculations used for invoicing royalty under/over deliveries and valuation
•Inventory balancing and analysis of transportation costs and tariffs, including take or pay
•Resolve any outstanding AR/AP issues with Finance and counterparties on a monthly basis and ensure that the accounts are in good standing and imbalances reconciled
•Working with internal and external auditors as required
•Other duties as required
Systems and General
•System data integrity continually monitored and tested
•Miscellaneous project work within the accounting and finance groups as deemed necessary
•Develop rapport with counterparties, building relationships and trust

•Strong understanding of the oil and gas industry and marketing accounting
•Minimum of 5 years of direct relevant experience
•Advanced education in Accounting or Economics:
+ Designated accountant – CPA, CA, CGA, CMA is preferred, or equivalent direct relevant industry experience
+ CAPPA certificate
•Solid understanding of complex and/or cross-border marketing arrangements
•Proven team player with the ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships, while demonstrating a high level of cooperation and mutual respect
•An appreciation for tight deadlines
•Strong attention to detail and highly organized
•Ability to think on feet and adapt to situations
•Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g.: Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint) and marketing software
