The Manufacturing Supervisor directly supervises employees in the manufacturing department and is responsible for overseeing and organizing the equipment, staff, and processes on the production floor. Responsibilities include the assistance of planning, assigning, and directing the work as well as addressing and resolving problems. They will manage routine production activities as well as first-line troubleshooting efforts should problems arise.
· Actively participates as member of the department’s Operations Team.
· Oversees the daily activities required to process the current production jobs.
· Reviews the daily production schedule with the Manufacturing Manager and
Planner.
· Coordinates workflow to ensure optimal use of resources with the lowest labor
cost.
· Ensures quality control guidelines are met continuously.
· Provides feedback to management regarding issues or problems on a job.
· Ensures all required forms are complete and accurate.
· Communicates with other shift supervisors on all activities that are taking place
pertaining to job orders.
· Assigns work, assists in training, disciplining and evaluates performance.
· Coordinates new employee orientation and specific job training.
· Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
· Implements the Norco Management System through continuous improvement
efforts.
· Performs other related tasks and/or special projects, as assigned.
· Must be mechanically inclined and familiar with tools, tooling, blueprints, and
standardized work.
· Ability to communicate across many levels of the organization.
· Has strong organizational and team building skills.
· 5 to 7 years' experience working in a manufacturing environment.
· High School diploma or GED preferred; Prior training or experience is preferred.
· Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills.
