Supervision: Oversee a team of leads, welders and assembly personnel, providing training, direction, and support to ensure work is completed on time and meets quality standards. Additional duties include handling day-to-day HR issues.
Production Coordination: Collaborate with lead personnel and other foreman to plan and schedule welding and assembly tasks to meet production goals. Allocate resources effectively and adjust schedules as needed to accommodate demand changes, making on the spot decisions when necessary. Coordinate with Shop Supervisor and Manufacturing Project Manager to plan a few weeks in advance. Conduct a daily huddle with leads and provide a download with other foreman and shop supervisor at the end of the day.
Quality Control: Monitor and enforce HHI Corporation quality control standards to ensure the highest level of product quality. Identify and address quality issues promptly with team members, design team and/or Manufacturing Quality Manager and evaluate ISO 9001/AISC program. Ability to approve drawings from design team for constructability and completeness for fabrication.
Safety Compliance: Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing safety procedures, evaluating training needs, and promoting a culture of safety among the team members, through positive examples and consistent re-training.
Equipment Maintenance: Identify maintenance needs promptly and effectively to minimize downtime and ensure optimal equipment performance. Ensure daily/weekly maintenance occurs.
Inventory Management: Manage inventory of welding and assembly materials to ensure adequate supplies are available to meet production needs. Work with manufacturing management to ensure needed supplies are addressed in advance.
Problem Solving: Identify and resolve production challenges and bottlenecks, implementing solutions to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
Reporting: Provide regular reports to management on production progress, resource utilization, and any issues affecting production quality and schedule. Daily checkout.
Team Development: Train and develop welding and assembly personnel, offering performance feedback and growth opportunities. Continue developing self through job provided trainings and self-sought training to improve team’s effectiveness and management skills. Provide needed positive and negative feedback to HR and Shop Supervisor.
Production Team: Collaborate closely with leads, welders, assemblers, and other production staff to ensure smooth workflow and meet production targets. This includes working hands-on alongside the team.
Management: Report to upper management on production status, resource requirements, and any critical issues that require attention.
Maintenance Department: Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure equipment is properly maintained and repaired.
Quality Control: Partner with the quality control department to maintain product standards and address any quality-related concerns.
