Advance is looking for a qualified Production Capacity Scheduler/Buyer to support our manufacturing operations in Cedartown, GA. This position is on-site and will collaborate closely with Plant Engineering, Management and Supply Chain Operations.
This position is responsible for handling and ensuring smooth functioning of the production schedules while coordinating with the Production Supervisor(s), Project Manager(s), and other key personnel to develop the weekly schedule. Responsibility includes the review and initiation of adjustments/add-ons to the schedule as needed. The Production Capacity Scheduler will also ensure that production resources and inventory are arranged beforehand.
- Develop and maintain short- and long-term production schedules based on sales forecasts, material availability, and production capacity.
- Works closely with key personnel to maintain and update production schedules as needed.
- Communicate schedule changes and updates to all relevant departments.
- Identifies and corrects problems and inefficiencies in process, materials, equipment, or skills.
- Work closely with the Supply Chain Manager, Inventory Planner and Production Supervisors to arrange all materials and equipment required for production beforehand.
- In coordination with the Supply Chain Manager, plan and submit large scale blanket purchase orders for raw steel from the published mill rolling schedule.
- Manage weekly steel releases of mill direct orders and supplemental products from approved service centers to ensure material coverage of the production schedule.
- Considers sales forecast and employee capacity when developing production schedules.
- Organize and oversee the production schedules.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Management, Production Control, or related field.
- 2 years with production scheduling software.
- 2 years with steel purchasing preferred, not required
