REPORTS TO: Operations Manager

JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Manufacturing Estimator to support quoting and estimating functions for both machining and fabrication projects. This role is critical in preparing accurate and timely cost estimates based on customer drawings, specifications, and internal capabilities. The Estimator will work closely with sales, engineering, and production teams to ensure competitive pricing and realistic lead times.

Key Responsibilities:

•

Analyze technical drawings, CAD files, and specifications to develop time, material, and labor estimates.

•

Evaluate in-house capabilities vs. outsource needs (machining, welding, forming, finishing).

•

Collaborate with engineering and production to ensure manufacturability and optimize costs.

•

Prepare and submit accurate quotes and proposals in a timely manner.

•

Maintain and update cost databases, supplier pricing, and historical job costing.

•

Communicate directly with customers and vendors as needed for clarification or pricing.

•

Participate in job reviews to improve quoting accuracy and job profitability.

Qualifications:

•

Experience in a machine shop and/or fabrication environment strongly preferred.

•

Working knowledge of machining processes, weldments, and metal fabrication methods.

•

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

•

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP or estimating software is a plus.

•

Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.

Work Schedule & Compensation

•

Shift: First Shift, Monday–Friday

•

Hours: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM or 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (based on team needs)

•

Breaks: Includes one 10-minute paid break and a 15-minute paid lunch per shift

•

Pay: $58,000 – $70,000/year, depending on experience and skill level

•
