The Manager - Tax (International) will assist with the implementation and effective administration of all corporate tax returns and filings for assigned international jurisdictions in compliance with all applicable tax laws. The position is responsible for overseeing tax related initiatives for assigned international jurisdictions, including assisting with the identification and evaluation of any liability and risk to minimize overall tax liability and exposure for the organization.
- Facilitates and manages overall foreign corporate income tax compliance and payments for assigned jurisdictions.
- Establishes and maintains Company relationships with external corporate income tax advisors within assigned jurisdictions.
- Maintains current knowledge of tax laws affecting the organization in assigned jurisdictions.
- Oversees tax planning and structuring activities within assigned jurisdictions.
- Reviews corporate income tax related information within subsidiary and branch financial statements prepared by Global Financial Reporting colleagues for assigned jurisdictions.
- Monitors intercompany transactions within assigned jurisdictions for compliance with Company global transfer pricing policy and makes transfer pricing adjustments, as required.
- Works with Legal and Accounting department colleagues to properly document and record intercompany transactions within assigned jurisdictions.
- Works with external advisors to provide data for the preparation of transfer pricing documentation, as required for assigned jurisdictions.
- Reviews corporate income tax returns and transfer pricing documentation prepared by external advisors for assigned jurisdictions.
- Manages the examinations of tax returns within assigned jurisdictions, including the preparation and/or review of responses to queries and documentation requests from tax authorities and consultation with external advisors on controversy matters.
- Collaborates with Tax Department colleagues to ensure the Company's financial statements comply with the tax related provisions of US GAAP (ASC 740, Income Taxes), including tax footnotes and other disclosures related to Forms 10-K and 10-Q.
- Assists Sr. Manager -Tax and Director – Tax on other department projects, as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, MBA from accredited college or university preferred.
- CPA, CA, or equivalent professional designation preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years previous experience in a similar role, or 3 years of public accounting experience in corporate tax.
- Experience with audits of income taxes of multinational companies and internal controls associated therewith.
- Ability to comprehend complex legal entity organizational structures and operating structures.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.
- Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment and successfully operate under ambiguous guidelines.
