Rhode Island Energy, a PPL Corp company, is seeking a Manager of Program Managemen
tto lead the planning, execution, and oversight of resource and program strategies that support our electric and gas work management initiatives. In this role, you will be instrumental in aligning budgetary goals, portfolio objectives, and strategic priorities by working closely with cross-functional teams. You’ll provide exceptional guidance to stakeholders, ensure full transparency of plans and progress, and facilitate timely interventions to optimize resources and deliver outstanding service to our customers.
Responsibilities Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Responsible for the end-to-end process and delivery of the annual RI Energy electric and gas work plans in an efficient and safe manner.
- Responsible for preparing, monitoring, and ultimately balancing the in-year and outer-years RI Gas capital portfolio of units and costs.
- Responsible for overseeing a $20 million per year paving and restoration program as part of the capital workplan.
- Identifies and assigns the appropriate resource pool (internal or external) that will execute the work plans and make early recommendations on mismatches between resource availability and workload; works to develop additional resources.
- Manage the development and implementation of cost-effective processes and solutions to meet business requirements ensuring existing and potential technological investments are exploited to their full extent.
- Provides up to date analysis and regulatory information to ensure regulators are kept up to date with relevant Rhode Island Energy programs in the Gas maintenance and construction area; participate in annual program audits conducted by the RI Division of Public Utilities and Carriers.
- Lead specific governance groups with regards to work and resource planning progress and achievement of goals.
- Collaborate with Finance, Asset Management, Electric & Gas Investment Planning and Management, and Project Management to support development of a 5-year business plan to meet company finance and risk objectives through capital investment.
- Support Electric & Gas Investment Planning and Management in development of the annual Infrastructure, Safety, and Reliability (ISR) plan and associated filings, including information and records request with the RI Public Utilities Commission.; May provide testimony in support of the plan as well as quarterly reporting on plan progress; compile and submit financial information necessary to reconcile any variance to spend at the conclusion of the plan year.
- Collaborate with the RI Division of Public Utilities and Carriers in the development of future capital plans; provide periodic plan progress updates.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders. Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and effectively influence real time decision making.
- Actively develop own skill set to achieve a full match with the target competencies for this role and for continuing professional development.

- Ensure the required emergency response and resource plans are in place in the event of an emergency so that the potential loss of life, damage and interruption of service are minimized.
- Participate in back up emergency response roles in the event of interruption of gas and electric service due to storms, damage, etc.
- Participate in work continuation planning and support in the event of labor disputes with unionized workforce. May include backfilling field-based positions that would require additional training and qualifications.
- Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in business, engineering, finance or other related discipline or equivalent work experience and 5+ years’ experience in construction project management and portfolio management, preferably within the utilities industry.
- Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence strategic decision making.
- Previous supervisory/manager experience in operational field activity is preferred.
- Ability to manage and lead through ambiguity.
