Job Overview:
The Manager of Human Resources and Compliance is responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR operations and ensuring the organization’s practices adhere to labor laws and internal policies. This role serves as the laiason for all employees and is pivotal in maintaining a positive workplace culture, driving compliance initiatives, and supporting the company’s strategic goals through effective human resources management.
Key Responsibilities: Human Resources Management:
•Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
•Manage employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance management.
•Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.
•Coordinate benefits administration and payroll in partnership with finance or third-party providers.
•Support leadership in workforce planning, talent development, and succession planning.
Compliance Oversight:
•Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA, EEOC, OSHA).
•Conduct internal audits and maintain records related to employment, training, and compliance.
•Serve as the primary liaison during external audits or legal inquiries.
•Stay informed about changes in labor laws and advise leadership accordingly.
•Develop and deliver training programs on compliance topics (e.g., harassment prevention, ethics, safety).
•Ensure compliance for federal program qualifications and renewals.
•Seek out additional federal certifications and lead the charge for obtaining new certifications.
Qualifications:
•Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or equavallent experience.
•Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, PHR/SPHR) preferred but not required.
•3+ years of experience in HR and/or role in compliance management.
•In-depth knowledge of HR best practices and employment law.
•Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
•Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
