Job Purpose

National Grid is hiring a Manager of Electric Data & Systems for our NY Electric team in Upstate, NY. This hybrid position reports to its home base as required and requires some travel to our local offices, and reports to the Director, Electric Data & Systems within the Digital Solutions organization. In a world increasingly shaped by data, this role is your opportunity to lead the charge in transforming information into impact. The role will work closely with IT and the electric business counterparts to meet data requirements for our digital transformation and day-to-day business. Additionally, this role coordinates with the digital solutions and technology teams to identify and execute data related opportunities ensuring that business outcomes are enabled with the right information, at the right time, with the right security.

- Build and Empower Teams Cultivate a high-performing, inclusive analytics team. Coach and mentor talent through structured development programs, fostering curiosity, clarity, and continuous growth.

- Collaborate for Change Partner across departments to identify opportunities where data can drive better outcomes. Be the bridge between technical expertise and business vision.

Interpersonal- Experience Required

- A passion for data as a force for good.

- Demonstrated ability to lead multi-functional teams and deliver project results in a comprehensive and timely fashion.

- Ability to communicate and work with people at all levels and across organizational boundaries, including the ability to comprehend and explain highly complex information to a less technical audience.

- Excellent problem-solving and strategic skills.

Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience in data and analytics

- Demonstrated ability to lead multi-functional teams and deliver project results in a comprehensive and timely fashion.

- Excellent problem-solving and strategic skills.

- Expertise in SQL, Python/R, and visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau

- Experience with cloud ecosystems (Azure, AWS) and big data technologies.

- A valid driver’s license with a safe driving record is required.

- Proven success in leading cross-functional data initiatives.

- Experience in energy, utility, or regulated businesses

- Exceptional communication and storytelling skills.

Salary: $139,000 - $163,000

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Internal candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
