Job Overview
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Manager, IT Product Delivery.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, IT Product Delivery, this position is responsible for leading and mentoring a multidisciplinary software engineering team, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment while ensuring high-quality, efficient, and compliant product delivery through agile best practices, proactive risk management, and strategic alignment with organizational goals.
Key Accountabilities
- Mentor and develop team members by providing guidance, feedback, and growth opportunities, resulting in a highly motivated and skilled workforce.
- Promote a collaborative and positive team culture that encourages continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and professional development.
- Champion adherence to engineering standards, agile methodologies, and coding best practices to consistently deliver high-quality software products.
- Establish and manage delivery processes to ensure timely and successful product launches that meet customer and market expectations.
- Identify, assess, and proactively address delivery risks in collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless and reliable product outcomes.
- Manage relationships with vendors and third parties to optimize product value, cost-effectiveness, and delivery efficiency.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive ongoing process improvements and strategic decision-making.
- Ensure all software engineering practices and product deliveries comply with relevant regulations and standards, while aligning technical efforts with organizational strategy and communicating progress to senior management.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, Management, or related fields, particularly if combined with technical experience.
- 7–10 years of progressive experience in software engineering, product delivery, or related technical roles, including at least 3–5 years in a leadership, supervisory, or management capacity
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary software engineering teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience implementing agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and best practices to drive product quality and team efficiency.
- History of managing end-to-end software delivery processes, ensuring timely product launches and meeting customer or market requirements.
- Experience identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks, as well as ensuring adherence to relevant compliance standards and regulations.
- Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and collaborate effectively with stakeholders to optimize product value and support organizational goals.
- Proficiency in tracking, analyzing, and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs) to inform decision-making and drive ongoing process enhancements.

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods.
