A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required. A minimum of five years of progressive experience focused on financial reporting with utility operations and a minimum of 3 years of management experience with multiple direct reports. Professional certification is required. Must have a strong knowledge of GAAP and FERC reporting requirements, as well as Sarbanes-Oxley compliance requirements. Preferred candidates will have expert skills in spreadsheets, pivot tables and database extractions and demonstrate a collaborative and empowering management style, with a focus on clear communication, team development, and fostering a culture of accountability, trust, and continuous improvement. Must have skills: strong critical thinking and self-review skills with a high attention to detail, excellent planning, organization and deadline management skills, strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, analytical mindset, and statistical analysis skills.
Responsible for overseeing the preparation and delivery of both internal and external financial reports, ensuring they are completed accurately and in a timely manner. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the integrity of the organization’s financial reporting process by collaborating across internal teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting, while helping to implement and maintain robust internal controls. This position also requires strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to effectively supervise, mentor, and develop a high-performing team.
The Manager ensures that all reporting complies with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Uniform System of Accounts. In addition to compliance, the role requires proactive analysis of financial data to support strategic decision-making and operational transparency.
