Job Summary:

As a Data Engineering Manager, you will oversee a team of data engineers, guiding them in the design, construction, and optimization of data pipelines and analytics frameworks. Your leadership will ensure the scalability, performance, and reliability of our data products, while fostering innovative solutions to enhance data accessibility and usability. This role involves strategic planning, project management, and effective stakeholder communication to align data engineering initiatives with business objectives.



Essential Functions:

Drive the Data Engineering strategy focused on delivering near real-time data products using serverless technologies
Partner with business leaders to develop and execute their data strategy
Develop expertise in multiple disparate source systems including SAP ECC, SAP Central Finance, ADMS, Service Suite, MDM, etc.
Partner with the data governance organization to ensure compliance with data policies and standards
Manage the data engineering budget including planning and forecasting
Lead the transition to a product based operating model
Develop and maintain relationships with upper-level management, peers, business analytics teams, and business organizations
Responsible for leading production support of analytics technologies and data integration. This includes leading an offshore team which handles


24/7 production support.

Drive production support operational efficiencies
Monitor and report on the performance of data engineering projects, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
Drive innovation and continuous improvement in data engineering practices, staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
Identify and mitigate risks associated with data engineering projects, ensuring the security and integrity of data.
Manage resource allocation for data engineering projects, ensuring optimal use of team skills and capabilities.
Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the data engineering team.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand their data needs and ensure alignment with business objectives.



Basic Qualifications:

Requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a focus on math, statistics, computer science, business, or a related field.



Experience: Required:

10+ years of experience in a data engineering role, with at least 3 years in a managerial position.
Strong SQL background working with a variety of data sources.
Expertise using languages such as Python, Java, or Spark.
Experience leveraging messaging queue technologies such as Kafka and Pub/Sub.
Expertise transforming streaming data using technologies such as DataFlow, DataStream, or Spark streaming.
Expertise developing resilient and scalable data products.
Expertise developing pipelines for unstructured data.
Expertise in native cloud back-end technologies such as BigQuery, DataFlow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run.
Expertise with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Experience with AI and ML ops.
Experience with DevOps and deploying and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.


Bonus to have:

MBA or advanced degree in mathematics, business, finance, statistics, or computer science

Working Conditions:

Physical Requirements

Able to hear oral communication either in person or on equipment such as telephone or mobile phone.

Able to operate a personal computer, either desktop or laptop, for extended periods
Able to reach, grasp and move items.
Able to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time.
Able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.


Working Conditions:

Able to support the Emergency Operating Plan.
Able to work indoors, in an office environment, regardless of whether open office, cubicle or private office.

Able to travel occasionally, possibly overnight.
