The Maintenance Technician installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, installs pipes, electrical systems, rigging of equipment in manufacturing or office areas. This position is responsible for the complicated tasks facing the Maintenance Department. This position is also responsible for directing one or more other junior maintenance employees to complete assigned projects. This position requires numerous in-depth skills to accomplish tasks assigned in a timely and safe manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment to ensure equipment is in operable condition. You must know where and what department every machine is located in. You must understand the correlation between safety, production needs, and machine outage.
•Detects unusual sounds or vibrations coming from machines or equipment to detect malfunction. Discusses machine operation variations with supervisors, operators or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems in need of repair. Able to troubleshoot to board or component level and understand interaction of all electric/electronic/mechanical systems in a machine.
•Troubleshoot and adjust equipment or dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repair parts. Installs and repairs of electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment. Operates machine to ensure repairs are complete and accurate. Reinstalls safety equipment/guards as necessary.
•Performs PM duties such as cleaning and lubricating shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery. Develops and audits completeness of PM plans. Maintains records of inspections, PM’s, safety issues, etc., in conjunction with Supervisor.
•ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC REPAIR:
•Plans and layout new or existing power run for new or existing equipment to ensure adequate power and loading to include proper conduit size and capacity. Details layout, equipment needed, power routing, conduit, etc., and directs work of others if assigned. Installs conduit and wire as designed and make connections to motors, fans, blowers, shut-off boxes, breakers or other power sources. Able to install buss way and able to make high power connections to bus bars or power sources and direct safe work practices of others. Orders equipment and supplies to complete jobs assigned.
•Must have intimate knowledge of the Electrical code, 3 phase and single-phase power, A/C and D/C circuits and combination of, PLC, Servo drives, AC and Dc drives and logic circuits. Able to read print to upgrade and modify equipment as needed. Have working knowledge of electrical schematic and equipment process to be able to troubleshoot and make modification on the fly to meet production needs.
•Use advanced knowledge of electrical/electronic equipment to troubleshoot equipment and diagnose problems. Make repairs or replace damaged components or install electronic components as needed. You can use all electrical and electronic test equipment safely and correctly.
•PLC knowledge should be able to read ladder diagrams trouble shoot PLC to board lever diagnosis. You must be able to remove and replace IO cards, HMI, and communication module as needed.
•You must know how and where all electrical disconnect for all equipment is located, weather being on buss line or service panel.
•PLUMBING/ HYDRAULIC/ CONSTRUCTION:
•Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pumps, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
•Repairs and maintains physical structure of the building and follows established Building Codes or other procedures or directions.
•Set up and operate machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, fabricate machine guards, and other safety devices.
•Pipe fitting be able to sweat, braze, welding, thread, grove-lock pipe and fittings. Have full knowledge of the building codes involved with creating installation planes, hanging pipe, inspecting and test of lines.
•Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts using arc, MIG or TIG welding techniques can repair damage metal components
•Rigger: Machine mover and set up
•Move machinery as needed throughout the facility for from facility to facility. Attach loads to the rigging to provide support to prepare for moving, use hand and power tools, operate forklifts, cranes, stand up reaches, front end loaders, drive 30 ft gooseneck trailer to accomplish task.
•Disconnect, drills, up plumb as need to mover equipment, dose reverse to set and level equipment.
•Fork truck, man lift operator trained and certified.
•Efficient in Blueprint Reading and necessary math.
•Shall know the company policy and procedure on safety and environmental issues.
•Shall utilizes lockout-tagout policy and procedures.
•Training in and/or experience with PLC’s

Requited to work at height of 40ft for extended amount of time.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
•HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical or other Certificates or Licenses are preferred.
•Keeps abreast of advances in the maintenance field. Able to apply advanced training in electrical and electronics to be an expert in the facility.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. The ability to use correct formulas to calculate electrical loads on circuits, needed power requirements, and determined flows and supply characteristics for water or hydraulic systems.
