D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Maintenance Technician. The right candidate will perform regular and directed grounds maintenance using a variety of machinery and equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•Complete all work in compliance with the company's operating safety policies and procedures while operating riding and push mowers, weedwhackers, trimmers, edgers, snow plows and trucks
•Operate mowers and other equipment to cut, trim and edge grass on organization's property
•Remove litter and debris
•Consolidate trash for weekly pickup
•Repair parking lot and sidewalks with asphalt, cold patching materials, and concrete
•Repair or replace building brick, stone, and concrete in landscaping features
•Operate snow removal equipment to maintain parking lots and sidewalks
•Shovel snow where removal equipment cannot access
•Replace worn or damaged parts such as hoses, wiring, and belts in machines and equipment such as truck, snow blower, and riding mower
•Clean internal areas of buildings, including buffing, dusting, sweeping, and mopping
•Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
•Ability to work overtime
•Complete any duties assigned by the supervisor
•Assist specialized contractors as needed
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
•High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
•One plus years’ experience in professional lawn care
•Must have a vehicle and a valid driver’s license
•Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
•Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications
•Proficiency with MS Office and email
•Ability to stand and walk for 4 hours straight or up to a full 8-hour day; sit for extended periods; kneel and bend at the waist; climb, balance and stoop, crouch or crawl; walk up and down stairs; walk on unlevel terrain; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision
•Regular exposure to outside and extreme weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, high precarious places and risk of electrical shock. The noise level is generally loud
