Maintenance Technician- 2nd Shift

About This Job

Description:

The role of a Plant Maintenance Technician is to participate in the Total and Preventive Maintenance for all equipment and facilities.

Duties to include but not limited to:

•

Install, repair and maintain all equipment and facilities

•

Analyse mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and make necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum safety, production and quality

•

Propose and implement continuous productivity and quality improvement actions for all facilities and process efficiency

•

Keep up to date documentation related to maintenance / completion of PM’s

•

Maintain clean and safe working environment in line with company policy

•

Adhere to all work rules and procedures

•

Other duties as requested

Job Knowledge / Skills / Qualifications:

•

Technical diploma and/or journey man card or 5 years minimum experience

•

Perform task of substantial variety/complexity which require an extensive knowledge of fabrication/processing techniques, tools, materials, machines and equipment

•

Electrical troubleshooting and mechanical repairs as needed

•

Hydraulic and Pneumatic troubleshooting required

•

Working knowledge of Quality systems and Health, Safety and Environmental skills

•

Strong technical problem solving skills

•

Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills

•

Satisfactory company work record, including attendance

•

Ability to follow instruction verbal and written - good math, language and reading skills required

•

Good communication skills demonstrated by the ability to communicate with employees of all levels

•

Forklift/Scissor/Boom certification – successful completion of Franklin certification training

•

Demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team and in a positive manner

•

Valid drivers’ license

Physical Requirements:

•

Job involves lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, exerts 25 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and exerts 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects

•

Requires pushing, pulling, reaching, standing, walking, gripping and bending

•

High mental and visual effort required

•

Able and willing to work overtime as required

Safety / Hazards:

•

Steel toed shoes required in production area at all times due to physical hazards from moving equipment, machine parts and product

•

ANSI Z87.1 standard safety glasses required in production area due to dust, oils and debris

•

Exposed to significant temperature changes in the facility – (heat in the summer / cold in the winter)
