Maintenance Tech - Fixed Equipment

Basic Function

HF Sinclair Casper Refining is seeking a maintenance technician to work with fixed equipment. Technician will serve as a subject matter expert for all issues pertaining to fixed machinery in the refinery and provide input on the maintenance, design, and recommendations for equipment, systems and parts. This role requires a detail-oriented, results-driven individual with a commitment to quality, accuracy, and the ability to organize and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines.

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

A minimum of 5 to 7 years of on-the-job experience working as a fixed equipment mechanic is required.

Education Level

High school diploma or general education development certificate (GED)

PREFERRED EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:

Associate Degree in an industrial related field.

Required Skills

Proficient in computer usage including Microsoft Office Suite and computer maintenance management software (i.e. SAP) or similar maintenance management software.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

None.

Work Conditions

Refinery based with up to 5% travel by land and air required. Petroleum refinery, warehouse /plant environment, out-of- doors environment, and driver-based environment including, but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, and working in confined spaces and rotating equipment. Subject to all weather and varying road conditions.

Physical Requirements

Job conditions require standing, walking, sitting, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movements, reaching or grasping, lifting and/or carrying up to 50lbs, pushing and/or pulling up to 50lbs, climbing up to 150ft, ability to operate and drive all assigned company vehicles at company standard insurance rates is essential, valid state driver's license and proof of insurance required, perceiving color differences, ability to wear personal protective equipment (beards are not permitted), and strenuous physical activity.
