General Overview: The Maintenance Superintendent ensures the plant’s maintenance activities meet the needs for optimal plant production efforts. Oversees all maintenance and project activities, including determining schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel and ensure each are completed in safe, timely, cost-effective, and efficient.
Responsibilities:* Makes recommendations as part of a full range of supervisory responsibilities including hiring, training, scheduling of work, grievances, performance counseling, and recommendations for promotions, demotions, and termination of employment.
•Ensures that all relevant Human Resources and HSE policies and procedures are followed and adhered to.
•Engage in proactive communication with supervisory team and maintenance personnel.
•Examines objects, systems, or facilities, and analyzes information to determine needed installations, services, or repairs.
•Requisitions materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, and replacement parts.
•Work to continuously improve production capacity by identifying root causes of downtime and implementing action plans to reduce recurrences.
•Analyzes costs and benefits of equipment maintenance, capital growth and improvements, and production unit maintenance shutdowns. Recommends strategies that minimize production interruptions and optimize production capacity.
•Prepares, maintains, and controls departmental expense and maintenance-of-business (MOB) capital budgets to meet company objectives.
•Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to construct templates and lay out reference points for workers.
•Conducts and enforces worker training in safety, repair, and maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use.
•Performs other related duties as required.
Other Requirements:* High School Diploma or GED required.
•Three (3) or more years’ experience working sand plant.
•One (1) or more years’ experience with supervising, coordinating, managing, and training maintenance personnel.
Mental and Physical Requirements:* Able to read, speak and write English.
•Frequently required to Lift/Carry or Push/Pull 75 lbs.
•Work performed in a plant environment. Exposure to inclement weather as most work will be performed outside.
•Comply with and enforce Company Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policy.
•Auditory and fall protection applicable when required.
•Sensitive to confidential information.
•Must work independently and as a member of a team.
