At Asbury Carbons, we are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Repair Technician to support the upkeep and ongoing maintenance of our refurbished office space. This individual will be responsible for performing routine and emergency repairs, maintaining building systems, and ensuring the space remains safe, functional, and presentable for all occupants.
Key Responsibilities:
•
Perform general maintenance and repairs across the office, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, lighting, carpentry, and basic appliance repair.
•
Inspect and troubleshoot issues in the refurbished structure, including walls, floors, ceilings, and fixtures.
•
Respond promptly to service requests and maintenance tickets submitted by office staff.
•
Conduct routine inspections of entire property to identify areas needing repair or improvement.
•
Assemble or move office furniture and equipment as needed.
•
Coordinate with outside vendors or contractors when specialized work is required.
•
Maintain tools, supplies, and equipment in good working order.
•
Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with building codes and company policies.
•
We have a lab location in South Plainfield that will need some maintenance assistance from time to time.
Qualifications:
•
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
•
2+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, repair, or a related trade.
•
Familiarity with working in older or refurbished buildings is a strong plus.
•
Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
•
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
•
Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
•
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Work Environment:
•
Office setting within a refurbished, possibly historic, structure.
•
Occasional work in tight or elevated spaces.
•
May require flexible hours for emergency repairs or after-hours maintenance.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 20 per week
