The Maintenance Planner uses proven maintenance planning methods and techniques to optimize resource use while maximizing system availability, throughput, quality, safety, and environmental performance, and reducing equipment time to repair, in compliance with all applicable standards, procedures, and policies. The Planner creates accurate, effective job plans and ensures resources are ready for execution of scheduled maintenance work. The Planner follows all company environmental, safety and health guidelines in planning day-to-day, downturn, and outage activities for facility maintenance teams. They order required parts, ensure required tools and equipment are available, and request and coordinate subcontracted service. The Planner works with the Scheduling Team to schedule maintenance work activities. The Planner ensures work orders are properly closed, with required information, manages the CMMS, and maintains equipment records.
- Follow all Safety, GMP, PURIS. and other established policies, processes, procedures, standards, and practices while achieving defined key performance indicators (KPIs) and meeting PURIS and plant goals and objectives
- Develop and update preventive and corrective maintenance job plans; support development of predictive/condition monitoring routes
- Act as liaison between Work Requester and Reliability Maintenance Team to ensure quality and success of work.
- Perform field walkdowns; identify EHS and Food Safety hazards and considerations; complete bid activities; generate job plans and procedures with appropriate level of detail, to include material, people, and time required to execute work; identify and, as needed, reserve/ requisition/ procure parts, specialized equipment and tools, consumables, drawings, manuals, permits, and documents; develop cost estimates; and identify time and coordination issues.
- Create and maintain standard work library for repetitive work
- Obtain, review, and discuss feedback from field; adjust job plans for future use
- Collaborate with others to scope and plan daily, CIP, and outage work/projects and resolve job priority, due date, and other issues
- Collaborate with others to create schedules for executing planned work during CIP and Runtime
- Document, print, and communicate maintenance work schedules
- Communicate with contractor resources on specific work orders assigned to the contractors. Ensure work order details and performance expectations are clearly communicated and understood.
- Confirm availability of required resources prior to schedule confirmation meeting; arrange for appropriate alternatives as required
- Close work orders when work is completed
- Manage CMMS use and data, to include 52-week (PM and PdM) plan, job plans, subcontracted work, work order life and history, job status, closing codes, repair costs, and other CMMS information
- Ensure equipment and repair parts and usage information is accurate and up-to-date
- Update CMMS and job plan BOMs to reflect changes in materials
- Compile and deliver work execution management process reports from CMMS; provide Maintenance KPI reports
- Partner with Procurement/Stores and Maintenance/Operations teams in determining inventory and managing changes for spare parts and repairable spares (i.e., OEM, material of construction, stock levels, etc.)
- Ensure drawing updates are completed for all equipment modifications and PMs updates as needed with help of Reliability Engineer
- Initiate and support improvement activities
- Comply with all PURIS policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Build partnerships and work collaboratively within the plant to meet shared objectives
- Network with others to share knowledge, information, and best practices
- 2-year technical Associate Degree with technical courses in maintenance practices and principles
- Strong understanding of and ability to apply maintenance planning and scheduling principles
- Ability to read, draw, and interpret drawings and schematics.
- Ability to think ahead and flexibly make adjustments in a rapidly changing environment
- Strong interpersonal, influencing, facilitation and presentation skills; able to communicate and influence effectively with all levels of management and plant personnel
- Math, data analysis, and metrics management skills
- Familiarity with problem-solving and continuous improvement processes, methods, and techniques
- Office management skills (invoice coding, procurement requests, filing, phone, financial daily operations)
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and eMaint CMMS
- BS in technical area
- Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP)
- 3+ years relevant experience- Experience as maintenance craft in a manufacturing environment
- Excel and eMaint power user
