Do you have building maintenance experience? Do you enjoy finding continuous improvements? Dimatec is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic, Level 1 to join our team. Reporting to the Production Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic, Level 1 will be responsible of the following duties:
- Perform tasks within the Dimatec Preventative Maintenance System.
- Perform daily tasks as they relate to facility and equipment as per the task list.
- Assist CNC Mechanic, Level 2, ensuring production and related equipment is in safe operating condition and equipment performs to accurate tolerances. This includes installation, repairs, and modifications of production equipment and work cells around the equipment.
- Under the direction of the Operations Manager and CNC Mechanic, Level 2, order supplies and parts for all maintenance functions including spare parts and lubricants as required.
- Under the direction of the Operations Manager and CNC Mechanic, Level 2, ensure facility and related equipment are in safe operating condition and equipment performs as required.
- Under the direction of the Operations Manager and CNC Mechanic, Level 2, oversee contractors as they relate to building or equipment installation, repair or upkeep, and any other function where contractors are required.
- Under the direction of the Operations Manager and CNC Mechanic, Level 2, ensure products used in the facility are identified in accordance with WHMIS requirements and that waste disposal conforms to local regulations.
- Ensure the workshop are in order and secure.
- Manage and be accountable for all company tools and supplies within the Maintenance Department.
- “On Call” for pertinent production and facility-related problems.
- Participate in projects as they relate to facility and equipment improvements, relocations, etc.
- Ensure all maintenance work strives for continuous improvement.
- Complete and maintain maintenance forms, records, and logbooks of the equipment and building.
- Perform any other duties as requested by the Operations Manager.
- High school diploma with technical/academic training or equivalent.
- Previous building maintenance experience.
- Valid driver’s license, Forklift certificate (or willing to obtain certification).
- Ability to use the overhead crane and scissor lift equipment.
- Knowledge of and ability to use power hand tools.
- Manual dexterity, attention to detail, and good hand-eye coordination.
- Equivalent experience may be evaluated in lieu of above qualifications.
- Familiarity with general machine shop practices and building maintenance.
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills in the English language.
- Demonstrated mathematical skills.
- Physical ability to lift/push loads of up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis, perform repetitive tasks, and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to work at heights and/or in confined spaces.
- Perform duties in an ethical and professional manner.
- Perform duties in a safe manner that is compliant with Workplace Safety and Health requirements, and in accordance with company Safe Work Procedures.
